Which detailing service is right for me?
Detailing services come in various forms, and there’s no one-size-fits-all; it’s all about what you want and the results you’re after. Depending on how you use or intend to use your vehicle, certain services may not be necessary or worth the investment at the time.
If there are any questions or concerns on which package is best for you, feel free to call and schedule a free consultation. This allows us to provide a thorough inspection and discuss your vehicle's needs and long-term goals to help you make the best decision.
Pricing
Pricing may vary based on your vehicle’s size and configuration, as well as any additional aftermarket modifications (such as lift kits or body kits with excessive/intricate crevices)
Do you offer price matching?
Odyssey Garage does not typically offer price matching, as the products, services, and coatings used can vary between installers and detailers. However, in select cases, we are happy to consider matching the price of an identical service offered by our closest competitors. Simply show us an ad or quote, and we’ll see if we can match the price.
Please note that promotions, such as free product offers, gift cards, location-specific deals, and holiday sales (e.g., Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Labor Day), are automatically excluded from consideration. Limit one match per item, guest, or service.
What is a Maintenance Wash?
A maintenance wash is a routine service designed to keep your vehicle looking its best. It helps preserve features like ceramic coatings or quarterly wax applications. Typically, a maintenance wash includes both standard interior and exterior cleaning to maintain the overall condition of your car.
Do you only work on high-end vehicles and race cars?
At Odyssey Garage, we believe in being a part of your vehicle’s journey! Whether your vehicle is a daily driver, first car, work vehicle, or prized possession, we value your relationship and are more than happy to help maintain whatever vehicle you bring to us!
Do you offer loaner vehicles or shuttle service?
Work from home? Detailing your vehicle will be a breeze as Odyssey Garage is 100% mobile. While we don’t offer loaner vehicles currently, we have exciting plans for the future.
Do you travel for out-of-town customers or services?
Absolutely! We proudly service our customers not just locally here in Houston but also in cities like Dallas and Austin, and coast to coast. We have private clients in California, Florida, Tennessee, Seattle, Nevada, Phoenix, and New Jersey. Please note that rates may vary from those listed online depending on location.
Do I need to have my car detailed even though it’s brand new?
Yes, it's often a good idea! Many brand-new vehicles from dealerships may have paint imperfections that aren't immediately visible. Dealerships frequently use high-volume car washes and buffing compounds with fillers that temporarily mask these issues. After a few washes, or as the fillers and oils evaporate, swirls and blemishes can become more noticeable.
For this reason, many of our customers have their vehicles detailed as soon as they bring them home from the dealership. We, or one of our partner shops, can prep, polish, and ceramic coat your car to ensure the finish is truly pristine and protected for the long term, right off the showroom floor.
I’m purchasing a new vehicle, what should I do for protection as soon as possible?
There are several options we would recommend, but also a few we advise against. For our long-term clients, it’s a no-brainer to decide what to do to their vehicles based on our established relationship.
For new clients, we always recommend a consultation to assess how your current vehicle has been maintained and to discuss plans for the new vehicle. This helps us tailor a protection plan that ensures your new vehicle receives the best care and gives you most comfortable brand-new vehicle experience!
What are the benefits of a ceramic coating?
- A deep, rich, glossy finish that enhances the appearance.
- The vehicle looks cleaner longer, even after those rainy days. A ceramic coating creates a hydrophobic surface that repels water, which also helps prevent oxidation and preserve the paint.
- It has an invisible finish that you wouldn’t even notice until the water beads on the surface of the vehicle.
- Easier maintenance, as contaminants wash off easily during maintenance washes.
- You no longer have to worry about the quarterly waxing for a few years (depending on maintenance).
Why does ceramic coating take so long to apply?
Preparation is key! Every ceramic coating begins with a paint correction (level 1) to ensure that the surface is as smooth as possible, providing the best quality finish for the coating. Depending on the condition of the paint or how meticulous you want the finish to be, multilevel paint corrections may be needed. This is not uncommon for those who have had their daily vehicle or weekend warriors for many years and seek a finish that’s as close to brand new - or even better- than one originally purchased off the showroom floor!
What are the benefits of PPF?
- Protects against rock chips and road debris.
- Absorbs micro scratches, with self-healing properties
- Prevention of marks and minor abrasions.
- Protection against harsh water spots etching into your paint.
Is it worth it to put PPF on my vehicle?
We at Odyssey Garage are firm believers that while ceramic coatings and PPF are excellent options, they may not be the right investment for everyone. It depends on your lifestyle and how you use your vehicle. After consulting with our professionals, we can guide you toward the best solution that fits your needs and budget to ensure the right level of protection for your vehicle!
What are swirl marks?
Swirl marks are light scratches caused by tiny particles making abrasive contact with your vehicle’s finish. These marks often result from using low-quality or contaminated cloths and impure or harsh water, which can leave debris behind. When your wash mitt picks up these particles, it can damage your vehicle’s paint.
This is a common issue at high-volume detailing shops that prioritize speed. They may not frequently change wash water or inspect towels and mitts for contamination. If towels or mitts have been dropped on the floor or reused without proper cleaning, they can collect debris that creates swirl marks, damaging the paint as the vehicle is washed and dried.
How do I get rid of swirl marks?
A paint correction is required to remove swirl marks. This process begins with thoroughly decontaminating the vehicle's surface through multiple washes during the prep stage. It is followed by a meticulous paint correction or polish—often referred to as buffing. This carefully restores the paint’s smoothness and removes swirl marks, bringing back a flawless finish.
